Farol island the lighthouse... 

Farol Island name is due to the fact that it is located there the lighthouse of Cabo de St.ª. Maria. The access to Farol Island is made by boat only.  During this transport, approximately 40min, you can appreciate the beauty of the Ria Formosa as well as the diverse fauna that lives in this protected area. In spite of its urban and tourist occupation, this beach counts on an extensive beach that, to nascent, gradually becomes more calm. Of course, the gastronomic offer has as its main dish the best and freshest fish and seafood.
